Coming Home to Father's House Ghana

In 2011, our first eight boys were rescued from lives of slavery in the fishing villages of Lake Volta and brought HOME to Father’s House Ghana. After ten years of frequent visits and developing friendship with a local pastor and his family, God had given our founders a vision to build a children’s home in the West African country they had grown to love. Our family continues to grow as more children find safety from desperate situations within our walls. Our mission today remains true to our original calling—to raise disciples of Jesus Christ as we provide a safe and loving haven for those at high risk or rescued from slavery and exploitation.

Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows. Isaiah 1:17

    Serving Our Community

Father’s House is located in an area where economic needs are great and voodoo is commonly practiced. Mostly fishermen or farmers by trade, our neighbors live in simple one or two-room structures with thatched roofs tucked under the branches of mango and coconut palm trees. There is no shortage of ministry opportunities in our community.

  • What We Do at Father's House Ghana

Recognized across our region as a highly sought-after shelter for children in otherwise hopeless conditions, Father’s House is also known as the place to which our neighbors turn in times of need. Often, they come seeking help for a practical problem such as malaria testing and treatment, safe drinking water, or a ride to the hospital to give birth, and leave with a Spiritual solution, as well. As we strive to love our neighbors unconditionally as Jesus would, lives are being changed for eternity.

    "Someone's Replacement"

Eighteen years ago today, a baby boy was born in Ghana, Africa. He was named Ametepe, meaning “someone’s replacement.” It is a name often given to a child born after an earlier baby has died. His parents had no way of knowing that, a few hours to the south, two men from America were visiting Ghana for the first time—a visit that God would eventually use to change the course of their son’s life forever.

    Why Shea Butter?

If you’ve ever spent any kind of time looking at skincare or beauty products, you’re probably familiar with an ingredient called Shea butter—but how much do you really know about what it is, where it comes from, and why it’s so widely used?
